Dallas high-end home remodeling

Managing Projects

For 50 years, our company has worked with small subcontractors, building both traditional and modern designs. This close relationship means we will match the right subs for your special project and maintain the highest quality standards.

We are small for a reason. By managing our jobs personally, we maintain quality and control of the bottom line.

Our clients love us because we don't stop communication once the job is complete.

We are there to help them with minor repairs, even months or years after they have moved in, because they are confident we know their houses.

Living Room / Kitchen

Modern Residence

With only 1700 sq. ft. of living space and clients who prefer relaxing at home, the challenge in this remodel was to use every available space not taken by the building's structural elements.

Hidden behind custom paneling are residential essentials such as a full guest bath, closets, a walk-in laundry room plus an extra washing machine/linen closet, shelving storage for entertainment media, and HVAC and lighting systems.

Precise workmanship, on par with a yacht, and the color white, enable the 260° view of downtown to play an integral part of the residence.

Neal Stewart and Doug Horton designed the residence.

Living Room

Mansion Residence

Steve Snider, Inc. was the first general contractor to finish out an apartment at The Mansion Residence.

The construction integrated a high tech water detection design, security, and a sub-floor with electrical and HVAC systems, similar to high rise office buildings.

The 6000 sq. ft. concrete shell and the required sub-floor enabled us to create several different floor heights and make the apartment look and feel like the clients' former home. Equally important, was the custom-built pickled cabinetry and trim throughout the apartment which was a style synonymous with the late Earl Hart Miller who designed the owner's previous home.

Dining Room

High Rise Residence

Working exclusively with new prospects to meet their budget and aesthetic goals is how we continue our commitment to customer and their residential investment.

We worked with the owners in early 2008 and as the economy slowed and a business opportunity came up for them, the project was put on hold. Two years later, they came back to us because of our hard work up front with their budget and our dedication to quality and value.

Traditional Residence

Updating a family home for longtime clients, we took advantage of the great layout in the 35 year old homeand enhanced its' relaxing and entertaining design. We completely redid the Kitchen and Butler's Pantry, while updating the Living Room with new bookcases, lighting, and bar. New bathrooms and updated dressing rooms were also part of the project, as well as simple updates in the rest of the home.

Converting a garage quarters into an office with a great audio-video system allows the owner to enjoy great operas and symphonies in comfort.

Dining Room

Culinary Residence

For this 82 year old home, we paid careful attention to the age of this building during the remodeling. We, along with the owners loved discovering the original shiplap and burlap walls and the original heating - a fireplace - in the middle of the kitchen.

Getting to know the owners better, we learned they liked to watch television and listen to music while cooking, so we changed the remodeling plans and re-prioritized the budget to bring in additional engineering. The result - an open space that maintains a quiet area for the home office and a large area for cooking and entertaining.

Living Room

Penthouse Residence

With exotic woods and Ann Sacks tile, we created a warm home for the clients. The office and adjoining bath have Makore with Bubinga and Ebony. The Master Bath has crotch Mahogany laid in a mirror manner. The Kitchen is paneled in Redwood Burl and the Guest Bath is paneled in Madrone Burl.

The Powder Room has intricate Erin Adams mosaic tiles in an antler pattern, custom cut for the room. The Master Bath includes a handmade mosaic tile waterfall design and a drop-in tub we framed to become free standing with glass tiles. The Guest Bath has a Japanese soaker tub with two unique tile shapes - handset stones and bamboo shaped tiles.

Rick Rozas and Alice Cottrell pulled the owner's Asian art and furniture together with custom curtains for the two-story living room.

Living Room

Art House Residence

Steve Snider, Inc. believes in hands-on management of a job. That is why we never take on more than we can handle and still maintain on-site supervision.

Dallas designer Kim Turner asked us to take on this residential project which was at a critical stage. We finished out two full baths, two bedrooms, a stairway, new doors, flooring, a fireplace surround and a bar, as well as state-of-the-art lighting. Three-fourths of the house was repainted, including partially completed faux work, plus a complex security system.

Dilbeck Residence

Charles Stevens Dilbeck designed homes in Dallas in the 1930's and early 40's and the houses are very recognizable for their cottage-style appeal. We have worked on several Dilbeck houses and like other historic homes, they require extra attention and care during remodeling so the value of the home and the intrinsic design remain intact.

Handicapped Residence

Many of our clients have transitioned to home health care, and as a result we've made many handicapped-accessible bathrooms which are still elegant and functional. For this couple, we decided it was more cost effective to not build an elevator between the first and second floors, and instead enlarged an exsiting first floor powder bath into a full handicapped bath.

We plumbed for a curbless shower large enough for the caregiver and the client to share and we installed adjustable wall-hung water closets and ADA-accessible lavatories. The wall coverings were designed for hospital environments as well as the shower curtain, while pocket doors to the 'his and her' lavatories provided privacy.

Our experience ranges from Dallas luxury home additions and remodeling to high-end apartment remodeling, including addresses in The Mansion Residence, The Claridge, The Vendome, La Tour, The Warrington, The Mayfair, and The Beverly. Our home remodeling projects have been in North Dallas, Park Cities, Turtle Creek, Preston Hollow, Bluffview, and other Dallas neighborhoods.
